Project Overview

One Good Kiwi is a mobile app created and funded by One NZ (Vodafone) to connect everyday Kiwis with grassroots charities across New Zealand. Each month, the platform distributes a donation of $100,000 to its community of app users, divided into ten tokens per user. Users then gift their tokens to the charities they care about, turning donations into a fun, transparent, and impactful experience.

Research & Insights

We conducted secondary research and surveys with participants who have donated to charities and a range of charities to identify their needs:

💚 Charities

Aim to foster trust and tell their story in an engaging, impactful way, helping donors feel connected to their mission.

👤 Users

Value transparency and desire to see tangible outcomes of their donations.

Hypothesis

If we design a platform that lets users connect emotionally with charities and visualise the outcomes of their donations, we can build trust, improve engagement, and make giving rewarding.

Design Process
